Trump Announces Strait of Hormuz Deal Progress as Iran Rejects Key Claims

Iran has rejected several major claims made by former US President Donald Trump regarding a possible agreement between the United States and Iran, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending enriched uranium activities.

According to Iranian media reports, Tehran dismissed Trump’s statement as a “mix of truth and falsehood” and accused him of trying to create a false impression of victory ahead of a possible agreement.

Iranian news agency Fars News quoted informed sources saying that Trump had misrepresented important points of the proposed agreement in his recent Truth Social post.

Sources claimed that several conditions mentioned by Trump were not actually included in the draft agreement currently under discussion between Washington and Tehran.

Iran especially rejected Trump’s claim that Tehran had agreed to destroy its enriched uranium stockpile. Iranian officials said no agreement had been reached on fully ending the country’s nuclear program.

Tehran also denied Trump’s statement that Iran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without any toll or charges. Iranian sources said no such clause exists in the proposed agreement.

According to Iranian reports, Trump also avoided mentioning points that may favor Iran, including the possible release of frozen Iranian assets worth billions of dollars and provisions related to a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian source told Reuters that a political understanding between Iran and the United States had been reached, but no final agreement has been signed yet.

Reports also stated that Donald Trump was holding an important meeting with advisers inside the White House Situation Room to discuss the possible Iran-US agreement and make final decisions.

The latest developments have increased global attention on the Strait of Hormuz, Iran nuclear talks, Middle East tensions, and oil market stability.
