Pakistan Rejects Abraham Accords Flexibility Until Palestine is Recognized – Ishaq Dar
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has clarified that Pakistan will not show any flexibility on the Abraham Accords until an independent Palestinian state is officially recognized.
Speaking to journalists in Washington, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan’s position on Palestine remains clear and principled. He stated that Palestine must be recognized according to pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
He rejected ongoing rumors regarding Pakistan joining the Abraham Accords and emphasized that the country would continue supporting the Palestinian cause at every international platform.
Ishaq Dar also said Pakistan is playing a positive role in global peace efforts, especially in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States. According to him, Pakistan helped both countries return to negotiations after nearly 47 years.
The foreign minister added that Pakistan’s international image has improved under the leadership of the Prime Minister and military leadership. He claimed that India’s efforts to isolate Pakistan globally had failed.
He further revealed that his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was held in a positive environment with senior Pakistani diplomatic officials also present.
Talking about Kashmir and Palestine, Ishaq Dar said the Kashmiri people should receive the right to self-determination according to United Nations resolutions, while Pakistan would remain firm on both issues.
His statement came after former US President Donald Trump recently suggested that several Muslim countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, should join the Abraham Accords following a possible Iran-US agreement.
